How WhichDating uses AI

What the newsroom does

• Once a week it checks every app we review: its App Store listing (prices and rating), and news from the app, its owner and consumer regulators.
• When something has changed, it finds the original source, writes a short "what it means for you" brief or updates the facts on our pages, and lists its sources.
• It answers common questions people search for, such as whether an app is free, using the same checked facts.
• Once a month it publishes the Dating App Price Index.

The rules it follows

• Original sources only. Every fact links to where it came from: the app's own pages, the App Store, a company filing or a regulator. Social media and forums are only ever used as tips to look into.
• Two sources for big claims. Closures, sales and safety problems need two original sources, or one official one.
• No accusations of its own. Criticism of a named app is only reported when a regulator, court or company filing says it, and is quoted with a link.
• It never claims to have tested an app. "Last tested" on a review only changes when one of our editors has used the app.
• It doesn't change scores or rankings. Those come from our review method.
• Same owner, same rules. Smooch and the DatingPartners network share an owner with WhichDating. They're always labelled and never moved up.
• Honest dates. A page's date only moves when the page changes.

When it gets something wrong

Everything it publishes is checked again a week later against its sources. If something was wrong, or a source has changed, it's fixed and listed on our corrections page. You can report a mistake there too, and so can app companies.

Our robot

It identifies itself as WhichDating-Newsroom/1.0, follows each site's robots.txt, checks each page at most once a week, and stops if a site asks it to. Contact: editorial@whichdating.com.
