What Is Facebook Dating?
Facebook Dating launched in 2019 as a feature within the main Facebook app (not a standalone app). It creates a separate dating profile distinct from your main Facebook profile. Meta says Dating will not suggest your current Facebook friends as matches or tell them you have joined, and your Dating profile, matches and messages do not appear in your News Feed. The service uses your Facebook data (interests, events attended, groups joined) to suggest compatible matches, adding a layer of social context that pure dating apps lack. When it launched in Europe in October 2020, Meta said Facebook Dating was available in 52 countries, including the UK and the US. It works inside the Facebook app on iOS and Android. You can report and block anyone, and messages cannot include photos, links, payments or videos.
